Kerry (Wen KunYuan) is an award-winning Chinese industrial designer and is currently working as an industrial designer at Pininfarina Shanghai, a renowned Italian design consultancy. He has worked in the multidisciplinary field of automotive, architecture, product, and UX design where he infuses every project with unique creativity and vision. After graduating with a major in industrial design from the University of Illinois, Urbana Champaign in the United States, he gained extensive experience working with top clients in the industry.

He started his career as an intern at Toyota Mobility and Philips where he worked on projects on personal mobility bots, which was later funded by NSF and a privaQte VC fund from Carle Healthcare. Later, he joined AbbVie, where he spent 1 year in Chicago designing medical devices and launching innovative subcutaneous drug delivery DuoDopaTM onto the market.

 

At Pininfarina, He led multiple projects for clients including Bosch, Otis, Fila, and Lenovo. Over the past 3 years, he has launched more than 15+ products onto the market. He had accumulated extensive experience in product design, manufacturing, product management, and user-market research. He is passionate about prototyping with users through A/B testing, refining ideas, and bringing clarity to push creative boundaries.

He is studying at the University of Pennsylvania for a Masters degree in Integrated Product Design and at Massachusetts Institute of Technology for a Product Management Certificate. He aims to study product management with a focus on data analytics and AI generative design. His expertise and passion for innovation make him a driving force to create stunning, innovative designs to the industry.
